Lonnie serves as the President/CEO of Environmental and Safety Solutions, Inc., (ESS) a consulting company that focuses on OSHA and EPA regulatory compliance, which he founded in 2002. ESS specializes in Environmental and Occupational Safety Regulatory Compliance, Industrial and Construction Safety Services, and Machine Hazard Risk Analysis. Lonnie oversees a team of professionals with extensive experience that provide services in automotive, chemical, construction, health care, manufacturing, & public utility industries to Fortune 500 companies & small businesses throughout the country.
Lonnie received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering Technology from the University of Cincinnati. He held various plant engineering and compliance positions in several companies prior to founding ESS. His last position was a Division Engineering and Environmental Manager for a national company. This experience gives Lonnie a unique approach to compliance solutions versus the traditional professional. He has a deep understanding of the needs of industrial and construction companies for system based occupational safety and environmental compliance. His system based approach to safety drives performance while having the flexibility to meet changing organizational needs for ESS clients.
Since the founding of ESS, Lonnie has been active in the business community. In 2011, ESS was featured in Time Magazine advertorial by the National Urban League and on MSNBC Your Business & Nightly News with Brian Williams. In 2011, Lonnie graduated from the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati’s African American Business Development Program .In 2012, Cincinnati Business Courier recognized ESS as one of the 55 Fastest-Growing Private Companies in Greater Cincinnati, and were awarded MBE Supplier of the Year by Ohio Minority Supplier Development Council (OMSDC), Small Business of the Year (6+Employees) Business to Business by the Cincinnati African American Chamber, and MBE Supplier of the Year Class I Award from Ohio Minority Supplier Development Council. In March 2014, Lonnie graduated from Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program; Certificate of Entrepreneurship (Babson College).
Lonnie has been married to his love Erica for 24 years with three great children; Laila, Lonnie II, & Lance. His commitment to his community and faith is demonstrated through his Board Membership with The Greater Cincinnati YMCA and City Gospel Mission and to his community where he serves as President of the Wyoming Youth Football Association.
